Nienke understands photography as a metaphysical exchange of energy. She takes a multidisciplinary approach to explore the concept of time, memory and emotional attachment. At the very heart of her practice is the belief that art can create a transformative experience.
Her involvement as an arts advocate and educator covers a broad range of experience from working as a teaching artist with at-risk youth to instructing workshops and photography classes.
Nienke holds a BSc. in Photography from the Art Institute of Philadelphia and is currently based in Denver, Colorado.
