At the very heart of Nienke’s practice is the belief that photography can create a transformative experience. She is interested in the metaphysical and explores themes of time, memory and emotional attachment through her lens. Nienke reveals herself through her subjects as she unravels the intricacies of womanhood and the human experience. Her preference to photograph with film is driven by the desire to slow down and create intention within every frame.
Over the past decade, Nienke has engaged with her community as an educator, performer and advocate of the arts.
She currently resides in Zürich.
